Landini, Francesco L Composers Composition
Landini, Francesco L Composers Composition
Landini, Francesco
Sometimes called il Cieco (the Blind), Italian composer Francesco Landini (c.1325-1397) apparently lost his sight to a childhood case of small pox. If he composed any sacred music, none is well-attested; however, his secular output was vast. Landini (or Landino) was trained as an organist and his favorite instrument seems to have been the portative organ (organetto).
