Mastiff Molosser Group Breeds DogsThe Mastiff or English Mastiff originated in England over 2000 years ago as a property guardian, fighter, and wardog. By the 1800's, the breed was rare; by the 1940's, almost extinct. Restoration of the Mastiff began after World War II by the Old English Mastiff Club.
