Eskasoni E Localities Nova Scotia Canada


Eskasoni first nation is located in Cape Breton county on Route 216, on East Bay of Bras d'Or lake. The word 'Eskasoni' is derived from the Mi'kmaq word 'We'kwistoqnik', which means 'where the fir trees are plentiful'. Its permanent boundaries were first charted by the Surveyor-General of Cape Breton in 1832, and consisted at that time of 2800 acres of land.
