Forensic psychology is concerned with the application of psychological knowledge and principles to legal issues, such as the reliability of evidence, the reliability of eyewitness testimony, the role of human memory, the psychology of decision-making (particularly group decision-making, as in juries), witness credibility, and so on.Forensic psychology is generally distinguished from forensic psychiatry, which deals with legal questions such as the determination of sanity, issues of responsibility for acts committed, and so on.
