Adi Sankaracharya
Adi Sankaracharya the ninth century Saint is the founder of the Advaita philosophy of Hinduism. He also united the six religions of Souryam, Saktham, Vaishnavam, Saivam, Ganapathyam and Kowmaram and called it Shanmadham (six religions) that is the foundation of Hinduism. Since there have been many Sankaracharyas after him he is called Adi Sankaracharya to distinguish him from the rest.
