Lajoie, Napoleon L Players People

Napoleon "Nap" Lajoie (1874-1959) was one of the greatest hitters and all-around players in the history of the major leagues. He still holds the American League single-season record for batting average. His jump from the National League Philadelphia Phillies to the American League Philadelphia Athletics gave credibility to the new league and his move to Cleveland invigorated a struggling franchise.
