Heliskiing

Heliskiing provides powder skiing tours in backcountry or glacier terrain. Rather than using traditional ski lifts, skiers are carried to very high or remote areas by helicopter. From there, skiers are accompanied by one or two guides back to a designated helicopter pick-up point. Heliskiing is suitable for those who have attained a at least an intermediate level of skill. If you have any question about your abilities, it is recommended that you speak with the company and ask many questions prior to booking your trip. Weather can be variable at the altitudes that heliskiers attain. Be sure to check with the tour operators to find out what to pack.
