Snowcat Skiing

Snowcat skiing provides guided powder skiing tours in backcountry areas and terrain. Rather than using traditional ski lifts, skiers are transported around a mountain in a snowcat -- something along the lines of a small bus on large tank treads. Snowcat skiing is suitable for intermediate or advanced skiers who have experience skiing in powder, although some companies will provide special packages for skiers just learning to ski in deep snow. Safety equipment, including avalanche transceivers, is typically provided to guests as part of the package. Weather can be variable -- be sure to check with the tour operators to find out what to pack.
