Besieged - UK/Italy (1998), directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, from a story by James Lasdun. In Rome a British pianist (David Thewlis) falls in love with his African maid (Thandie Newton), and agrees to help her husband (Claudio Santamaria), who is being held as a political prisoner.
