The Woodlanders - UK (1998), directed by Phil Agland, from the novel by Thomas Hardy. A tale of misplaced love. In a rural village in Victorian England, a social climbing timber merchant (Tony Haygarth) marries his daughter (Emily Woof) to a new doctor (Cal Macaninch), despite the promise that she would marry a local woodman (Rufus Sewell).
