Biggs, E. Power Organists Organ Keyboard


Edward George Power Biggs (1906-1977) was born in England, training at the Royal Academy of Music. He came to the United States in 1930 and the rest of his life was spent in performance and scholarship. Biggs had a live weekly radio show from 1942-1958, which popularized organ music. He performed with many major symphonies, and had numerous recordings. He was largely responsible for introducing the Baroque music of Handel and Bach to America.
