Targhee Breeds Sheep Livestock


Targhee sheep are one of the youngest North American breeds, having been developed in the middle of the 20th century. Rams weigh between 200 and 300 lbs, with ewes weighing between 125 and 200 lbs. Ewe fleeces average 10 to 14 lbs, with a micron measurement of 21 to 25 and a Bradford count of 58 to 64. Staple length is 3 to 5 inches.
