Kolkata Localities West Bengal India
The name Kalikata had been mentioned in the rent-roll of the Great Mughal emperor Akbar and also in Manasa-Mangal. The present city of Calcutta(Kolkata) on the banks of the river Hooghly (it is part of the Ganges), originated from the three villages - Sutanuti, Govindapur and Kolikata(Calcutta). Calutta is the capital of the state of West Bengal. It is considered the Cultural Capital of India.
