Gustavus is well-known as the gateway to Glacier Bay. While most visitors to the national park are cruise ship passengers who never set foot on land, virtually all independent travelers to the bay come through Gustavus and take the one-day boat tour to the glaciers from Bartlett Cove.Many of these travelers are discovering that Gustavus is "not just" the gateway to Glacier Bay. Other attractions include whale watching, sport fishing, kayaking, hiking, camping, and just relaxing in a friendly, small-town atmosphere.
