Whitney, Eli Industrialists or Inventors Famous Nutmeggers Society and Culture


Eli Whitney (1765-1825) started school at Yale in New Haven, Connecticut in 1789, graduating at the age of 27. He is known for inventing a machine that could clean cotton of its seed, which revolutionized the cotton industry.
