Yarmouth was incorporated in 1639 and is located in southeastern Massachusetts on Cape Cod, bordered by Cape Cod Bay on the north, Dennis on the east, Nantucket Sound on the south, and Barnstable on the west. Its total area is 28.22 square miles, of which 24.25 square miles is land.
