The Orthodox Presbyterian Church is a reformed church which adheres to the Westminster Confession of Faith doctrinal standards. The OPC is a conservative denomination formed out of the struggle with liberalism in the 1930's. The church was founded in 1936 when the denomination broke off from the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. The name, "Orthodox" means "straight teaching" and refers to the acceptance of the Bible, in its entirety, as the Word of God.
