On the Proceedings of Pelagius Works Saint Augustine of Hippo Saints

English-language translations of a work of St. Augustine which is normally titled "De gestis Pelagii," i.e, "On the Pelagius Proceedings." Augustine himself also calls it "De Gestis Palaestinis" (On the Proceedings in Palestine), and Possidonius gives the descriptive title "Contra Gesta Pelagii" (Against the Pelagius Proceedings). The proceedings in question are those of Pelagius's second heresy trial before an episcopal synod. He escaped condemnation, so his opponents thought that he must have duped the bishops.
