- Catholic Encyclopedia - St. Othmar, also called St. Audomar, was the saints first abbot of St. Gall. At first saints the monastery used the Rule of St. Columba, saints but while St. Othmar was abbot, the Rule saints of St. Benedict took its place. He died saints in prison in 759.
