Based in New Orleans, Louisiana, the VooDoo joined the AFL in 2004 and were Southern Division champions in their first season.On September 27, 2005, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the team announced it would suspend operations for the 2006 season, but plans to return in 2007.
