Magical tale about the boy who refuses to grow up, Peter Pan and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of Wendy, Michael, and John Darling, and the adventures begin. This version is a musical made for television movie special, first presented in 1955, but filmed in 1960. It is based on the story by J.M. Barrie. Directed by Vincent J. Donehue and starring Mary Martin (Peter Pan), Cyril Ritchard (Captain Hook/George Darling) and Lynn Fontanne (Narrator). Original music by Elmer Bernstein, Moose Charlap, Trude Rittman, and Jule Styne. This presentation was a popular melding of American filmed television and Broadway theater.
