George Harrison was born in Liverpool, England on February 25, 1943. In 1958 he joined his school friend Paul McCartney and John Lennon in The Quarrymen as the lead guitarist. Their musical relationship and his inventive guitar style continued in the early 1960s with their new band, The Beatles. He rose to stardom and continued his musical career after The Beatles breakup in 1970. George was successful as a solo artist, writer, composer, movie producer, and introduced concert fund raising as in the Concert For Bangladesh in 1971. Founding member of The Traveling Wilbury's. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Beatles in 1988, and as a solo performer in 2004. George Harrison died on November 29, 2001 after a long battle with cancer.
