Nicolai, Carl Otto Ehrenfried N Composers Composition

German Romantic composer Otto Nicolai (1810-1849) is most remembered for his opera Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor, based on Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor. He also wrote choral and orchestral works. He died at a young age of a stroke.
