Shostakovich, Dmitri Dmitriyevich S Composers Composition
Russian Dimitri Shostakovich (1906-1975) was a Soviet composer who continued in the Mahlerian tradition of late Romantic lyricism and acerbic irony. He is particularly known for his cycles of fifteen symphonies and string quartets.
