Telemann, Georg Philipp

German composer Georg Philipp Telemann was born in Magdeburg in 1681 to a staunch Lutheran family. He died in Hamburg in 1767. He was admired as relentless self-promoter and made excellent salaries in the positions he held as well as through various commissions.
