Toch, Ernst T Composers Composition
Toch, Ernst
(1887-1964), Vienna, Austria. Well known composer in Germany until he had to flee the Nazi regime in the 1930's. He eventually came to America and supported himself and his family writing music for films for which he received three Academy Award nominations. Symphony no. 3 won him the Pulitzer Prize in 1956.
