Experimental music is music which traditional defies labelling. As such, rock, jazz, or techno artists are not considered "experimental," even if they create many new things within their style. What is consistently listed here are artists who invent new instruments, new means for performance, new tuning systems, and consistenly create new structures for their music. It's a bit arbitrary and highly subjective, but we've found that there is some thread of commonality between the artists that are found when someone is looking for experimental music.
