Carolina Beach Rhythm and Blues Styles

Carolina Beach

Carolina Beach Music originated in the late 1940's when R&B songs were played on jukeboxes at South Carolina beach pavilions and bars. Motown, Soul, old school Funk and Disco later joined the mix. It's music to dance to -- especially if the dance is the Carolina Shag. The music has remained popular and is often referred to as "Rhythm 'n Beach" and "Boogie & Blues."
