Sarah Lois Vaughan was born in Newark, New Jersey on March 27th, 1924, and died on April 3rd, 1990.
Known to her fans as "Sassy", or "The Divine One", Vaughn was one of the foremost jazz singers of all times with a career that spanned decades.
