Born in Hong Kong, China on November 20th 1967, her first major acting role came in the 1988 movie "Heart to Hearts", for which she received a nomination for Best New Performer from the Hong Kong Film Awards. Her musical career was launched in 1990, and within 6 years she had released over 20 albums. In a bid to escape mounting press speculation about her private life, Vivian Chow announced her retirement from the entertainment industry in 1997.
