Mel Columcille Gerard Gibson as his full name is, was born 1956 in Peekskill, State of New York. In 1960s his family moved to Australia and therefore he is known as Australian actor. Since 1992 he has been also active as a producer. For example, "Braveheart" and "Airborne" are at least partially produced by him. "Braveheart" and "The Man Without a Face" were also directed by him.
