Powell, William P PeoplePowell, WilliamWilliam Powell (1892-1984) started his acting career as a screen villain in silent films. With the introduction of sound he became a star in comedy and romatic roles in the 1930s, gaining three Academy Award nominations for best actor. He remained popular in leading and supporting roles until his retirement in 1955.
