Born in Illinois in 1971, Peter Sarsgaard has peppered his career credits with harsh, disturbing, dark-edged characters despite his boyish charm and appeal. He is perhaps best known for his roles as homophobic killer John Lotter in Boys Don't Cry (1999) and Charles 'Chuck' Lane in Shattered Glass (2003).
