Platform

In platform games, the goal is to run and jump (on platforms, or something like them) to the end of each level, (often while collecting tokens placed in hard-to-reach places throughout the level). Attacking enemies and/or dangerous obstacles that must be avoided or destroyed. The classic Mario World games probably defined the genre, however there were platforms before Mario, such as Jumpman, one of the original games of this type.
