Strug, Kerri Gymnasts Gymnastics Sports


One of the youngest gymnast to compete in the 1992 Olympics. Kerri was often plagued by injury during her years of competition. She was coached off and on through the years by Bela Karolyi. Kerri is best known for her courage during the All Around competition in the 1996 Olympics. During her last vault she was injured, her team had a chance of winning a Gold medal based upon her performance. In pain from a foot injury, Kerri elected to go for the final vault. She cleared and landed the vault, and was carried by her coach, Bela from the floor. Her team won the 1996 Olympic Gold medal.
