Shildon

Historical railway centre and from where Stephenson's Locomotion Number One made it's first journey in 1825. It was also the home of the railway pioneer Timothy Hackworth, and today houses a museum in his name. Situated one mile from Bishop Auckland in the Sedgefield District Council.
