Wigton

Wigton, a town that existed before AD1100, lies on the Solway Plain between the Caldbeck Fells and the Solway Coast. Many of the buildings around the market place are of Georgian style, and the upper storeys have altered little. Wigton is the birthplace of the author Melvyn Bragg.
