Redbridge London England United KingdomRedbridgeRedbridge came into being in 1964 with the joining of Ilford and Wanstead and Woodford, also combining parts of Dagenham and Chigwell for the first time. The Red Bridge, after which the borough is named, was the brick bridge over the River Roding. It symbolises the joining of Ilford with Wanstead and Woodford. Redbridge is located in the North East of London and encompasses 13,900 acres. North to South the Borough measures 5.8 miles, East to West it is 4.4 miles across. Known as the "leafy" suburb, Redbridge boasts 1,200 acres of forest and 600 acres of green park land. Approximately a third of the Borough is designated green belt and Redbridge has 13 conservation areas which preserve the green belt.
