Otto, Rudolf O PhilosophersOtto, RudolfRudolf Otto, 1869-1937. German philosopher of religion who sought to categorize the numinous states of experience which underlie religion. He was an associate of Leonard Nelson, who introduced him to the Friesian school of Kantian thought.
