Joining the league in 1998, the team is in the Eastern Conference and plays at MCI Center in Washington, DC. The team has had the highest attendance each year since then, save in 2001 when they came in a close 2nd to the New York Liberty. The team made the playoffs in 2000, 2002, and 2004.
