San Diego Christian College Private Colleges and Universities California United States

In the fall of 1970, seven students enrolled in the new Christian college, bringing to fruition a dream of our founding fathers for a biblically based college on the west coast. From two graduates in 1973 to a current alumni base of 3,000, CHC students are making a difference around the world. In 1973, CHC moved from church facilities in downtown San Diego to the present 32-acre campus in the foothill community of El Cajon. Early years were characterized by rapidly expanding enrollments and development of new academic programs. Today, courses from fifteen academic disciplines are offered. A change from a modular to semester program made it possible to add extracurricular and intercollegiate programs. During this time CHC was awarded accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Transnational Association of Colleges and Schools (TRACS). From an original faculty and staff of fewer than ten, CHC faculty and staff is now close to ninety including full-time and part-time employees. These individuals are educators and staff who are committed to the Lord, each other, and our students.
