Screen, stage, radio, vaudeville actor, film producer, and screenwriter. Lionel Barrymore made scores of films from 1909 nearly up to the time of his death in 1954. Portrayed Dr. Leonard Gillespie in the Dr. Kildare movie series. Worked in a wheel chair in his later years due to arthritis and hip surgery. The brother of John and Ethel Barrymore. Great uncle of Drew Barrymore.
