Australian Cattle Dog Herding Group Breeds Dogs

The Australian Cattle Dog, or Queensland Blue Heeler, was developed by ranchers in Australia in the 1830's by crossing the Smithfield with the Dingo. Other breeds where then added to the mix to create a sound herding dog with the stamina to work over wide areas and in harsh conditions. In 1903 the breed was recognized by the New South Wales Kennel Club. The Australian Cattle Dog remains a prized herder today.
